Former Zizzer Soccer Player (Class of 2000) Josh Posegate is enjoying his second season as Head Girls Soccer Coach at Marshall High School. In his first year as the Head Coach last season, Posegate inherited a team that went winless the previous season. Last year they broke the losing streak with a tie, but couldn’t get over the hump and get a victory. That all changed last week. The Marshall girls’ soccer team ended a string of 46 matches and two complete seasons without a victory on Wednesday with a 2-0 win against St. Paul.

They didn’t stop there though. Participating in a Tournament at Clinton, The Lady Owls defeated the host school 1-0 and then defeated Marshfield 3-2 in Overtime to capture the Championship. The 3 game winning streak improves Marshall’s record to 3-2 on the season. Congratulations Josh! Keep up the good work.

As a Zizzer, Josh was a 2 year Varsity Letter Winner who appearred in 40 Games from 1997-99. Posegate helped the Zizzers to 2 District Final appearances in 1998 (losing to Rolla 2-1 in Double Overtime) and 1999 (Losing to Rolla 3-2). As a Senior, Posegate was a 2nd Team All-District Selection as a Midfielder. In addition to scoring 5 Goals as a Senior, he led the team in assists with 7.
