The Zizzers hosted the Camdenton Lakers in the last games of the regular season on Wednesday. It was Senior Night fo rthe Zizzers as the team’s nine Seniors (Nic Barraza, Mitchell Biggers, Henry Eldringhoff, Jake Garrett, Sidney Jones, Kegun Lidgard, Devin Schmitt, Layne Sporleder, and Alex Ugbah) were honored between games. The Zizzers jumped out to an early lead. Layne Sporleder crossed a ball into the box that Logan Jeffery tracked down. Jeffery then fired a shot into the net for a 1-0 lead in the 2nd minute of play. The game went back and forth all night. It was an exciting game to watch. Seth Stiles scored the first of his two goals on the night in the 27th minute. A misplayed ball went straight to Stiles who sent a shot high over the onrushing goalkeeper. The ball dropped into the goal to give the Zizzers a 2-0 lead. Ten minutes into the second half Stiles struck again. This time taking a a nicely played pass from Logan Jeffery, cutting around a defender and sending the ball over the Camdenton keeper to make the score 3-0. In the final minute of play, the Zizzers were called for a handball in the box, resulting in a penalty kick for the Lakers. Zizzer Keeper Sidney Jones made a save on the penalty kick to preserve the shutout. The Zizzers win 3-0 on Senior Night. Good effort boys!

The JV also got a win against the Lakers. The Zizzers got on the board in the 5th minute of action as Ryan Ford scored the goal. The Zizzers played hard and made the 1-0 lead stand up. Both teams had chances to score, but Ford’s goal would be the only tally of the game. The victory is a nice way for the JV Zizzers to end the season. Nice job boys!

Next up will be a District Semifinal Match against the Republic Tigers at 5:00pm on Tuesday at Glendale. The winner of that match will play the Glendale/Branson winner on Thursday at 6:00pm at Glendale.
