The Zizzers traveled to Springfield for an Ozark Conference match against the Glendale Falcons who are ranked #9 in the state in Class 3. The Zizzers played hard throughout the entire 80 minutes, something that had been missing in recent games. The improved effort helped the Zizzers get to halftime with a 0-0 score. The Falcons would get on the scoreboard in the 9th minute of the second half as Sean Perryman’s cross found Kameron Clark on the back side. Clark fought off a defender and put the ball over the Zizzer keeper for a 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later, the Zizzers were whistled for a handball in the box which resulted in a penalty kick for the Falcons. Bobby Spence took the penalty kick and Zizzer keeper Sidney Jones got a hand on it, but couldn’t keep it out of the goal. The game would end with the Falcons on top 2-0. It was a great TEAM effort by the Zizzers. We need the same effort today as we take on Parkview.

In the JV game, Glendale scored in the 2nd, 6th, 16th, and 28th minutes in the first half. Zerek Johnson made a couple of good saves in goal. In the second half, the Zizzers played a little better defensively. Glendale added goals in the 12th and 18th minutes of the half for a final score of 6-0.

Today’s game will be Varsity only at home against Parkview. Kickoff is set for 5:00pm. Then on Thursday the Zizzers travel to Hillcrest. Varsity will start at 5:00pm followed by a half of JV.
