The Zizzers traveled to Joplin for an Ozark Conference soccer match on Tuesday. The Zizzers played alright in the first half, giving up one goal midway through the half. Joplin had more of the play in the half, but the Zizzers were able to create some scoring opportunities, they just couldn’t finish them off.
In the second half, A bad clearance early on, lead to a Joplin goal and a 2-0 lead. That goal took a lot of the wind out of the Zizzers’ sails. Joplin scored another goal soon after the second one. The Eagles would add two more goals before the game would end. Final score Joplin 5, West Plains 0.
In the JV game, the teams only played one half, due to Joplin being short on players. Joplin won the game 3-0. The Zizzers moved the ball some at times, but spent a majority of the game defending. Joplin was able to capitalize on some opportunities when they caught the Zizzers out of position defensively.
Next up will be games at Poplar Bluff on Thursday. JV will start at 4:30pm. The games will be played at Whiteley Park in Poplar Bluff.
