The Lady Zizzers ended the Regular Season with a Win on Thursday against the Joplin Eagles. It was quite warm when the game kicked off and the Lady Zizzers warmed up quickly. After some back and forth play, Carly Shannon brought the ball down the left side in the 14th minute of play and crossed the ball in front of the goal to Alyce Bender. Alyce laid the ball off for Anela Auala who sent a 15 yard shot into the net for a 1-0 lead. A good team effort defensively gave the Lady Zizzers the shutout win. The girls played aggressively and defended together. Offensively there were some good moments, but not a lot of shots on goal.
In the JV game, Joplin got the win on a Penalty Kick Eleven minutes into the second half. Overall it was a good effort for West Plains even though they couldn’t get on the scoreboard. Next up for the Lady Zizzers is a District game on Saturday against the Lebanon Yellow Jackets. That game will be played at Camdenton and will start at 1:00pm.
