In the 17th minute of the second half, the Zizzers lead went to 4-0. Devon Scott’s throw-in bounced across the front of the goal and a Hillcrest defender tried to clear it, but instead knocked it into the goal. With about 15 minutes to play, Hillcrest broke the shutout. A lack of communication by the Zizzers allowed Ngozi Gregory to get free with the ball. Gregory scored from the left side to make it 4-1. Casillas went after the rebound and was fouled again. Casillas again stepped up to take the Penalty Kick. This time Casillas’ shot hit the underneath side of the crossbar and bounced down across the line for the goal.

The Zizzers did a pretty good job overall. Logan Huff had a very good game in goal, making a couple of huge plays to thwart the Hornets offense in the first half. It was really nice to finally score more than two goals in a game. We just have to continue to work on finishing the offensive chances that we generate. This was a good game for our confidence.

In the JV game, Dillon Bigger scored in the 8th minute to put the Zizzers up 1-0. Biggers added a second goal three minutes later on an assist from Liam Tobeler. Hillcrest got a goal back just a minute later and the halftime score would be 2-1. The Zizzers had a pretty good first half.

Hillcrest came on strong to start the second half, getting 3 goals in the first 11 minutes. The last one, an own goal, as a Zizzer defender tried to clear a ball, but instead put it in the goal for the Hornets. Dillon Biggers scored his third goal of the game in the 13th minute of the half to pull the Zizzers within a goal, but that was as close as West Plains would get. Some breakdowns in the midfield and in the back allowed the Hornets to get too many good looks at the goal, and in the end proved costly to the Zizzers.
