This year’s schedule features two new teams. West Plains will host Crocker on August 27in what will be the opening match of the season. This will be the first ever meeting for the two schools. Also new to the Zizzers schedule is Republic, who will begin their first season of soccer in 2010. Republic will travel to West Plains on October 18.
Marshfield returns to the Zizzer schedule in 2010. After not playing the last couple of years, the Bluejays will travel to West Plains on September 20. Other non-conference matches for the Zizzers will be against Nixa, Logan-Rogersville, Poplar Bluff, Central, Branson, and Ozark. West Plains will also play 9 Ozark Conference matches (Camdenton, Glendale, Hillcrest, Joplin, Kickapoo, Lebanon, Parkview, Rolla, and Waynesville).
West Plains will travel to Springfield for the Viking Showdown hosted by Parkview High School on September 17-18. They will also travel to Camdenton for the Laker Shootout on October 1-2.
At this time, MSHSAA has not released District assignments, but we know that West Plains will move back up to Class 3 this fall. More information on Districts will be available at a later date.
Three teams from last season will not be on this year’s schedule: Catholic, Carthage, and Sikeston.
