The Zizzers made the long trip to Joplin on Tuesday for an Ozark Conference Matchup with the Eagles. The trip home wasn’t so bad after the Zizzers knocked off the Eagles 5-1 to improve to 12-6-0 on the season and 4-4-0 in the Ozark Conference.

In the 40th minute, Stuart Ziegler picked up a loose ball off a Landon Perry punt, beat the last Joplin defender and put a shot past the Joplin Keeper for a 3-0 halftime lead.

Blake Aggus put his shot in the corner of the goal to make the score 5-1 Zizzers. That’s how the game would end. Landon Perry picked up the win in goal in his first appearance there since the first week of the season. The Zizzers played well on defense, keeping Max Duncan and the rest of the Eagles off the scoreboard until the Penalty Kick.
In JV action, The Eagles beat the Zizzers 3-0. West Plains played well at times and created a few scoring chances, but couldn’t capitalize. Joplin scored all 3 of their goals in the first half.
Neither JV or Varsity have any more games this week. Next up is a trip to Marshfield on Monday.
