West Plains Zizzer Soccer

On Friday, July 13, 2007, the West Plains Soccer Association will host the 2nd Annual Zizzer Soccer Alumni Game. Last year’s game was a fun experience. This year we hope to get more people out to play. There is also a barbecue and possibly some other things that will be going on.

This event is designed as a fundraiser for the soccer association to use in the building of permanent restrooms at the West Plains Soccer Park. The first set is nearing completion, with another set to be built as funds are available. All participants in the Alumni game are asked to make a donation to the WPSA as a participation fee. The barbecue/concessions will also benefit the WPSA.

Please spread the word. All former Zizzer and Lady Zizzer soccer players are invited to participate. The game will begin at 6:00pm. If we have enough players we can have separate games for the guys and gals.

If you want to play or know someone that does, please send Coach Schmitt an email so we can get an idea of how many players to expect. Bring the family and friends out to watch and let’s make this a great evening.

Not an Alumn? Come out and watch the game and share in the good time. Feel like supporting the WPSA? You can make a donation or talk to someone who can find a way for you to help in some capacity. The WPSA is always looking for coaches, referees, volunteers, and more.

We are looking forward to seeing you on July 13.

There will be no open field held thursday morning June 28. The next scheduled open field will be Tuesday, July 3.

There will be no soccer Open Field held on Tuesday, June 19th or Thursday, June 21st. The next Open Field will be held on Tuesday, June 26th.

The 2007 Southwest Senior All-Star Games will be held on Thursday, June 21st at the Cooper Soccer Complex in Springfield. The Girls Game will begin at 6:00pm. The boys game will follow at approximately 8:00pm.

Zizzer Seniors Zach Auala, Richard Jones, and Dustin Smith are scheduled to participate in the Boys Game. Lady Zizzer Senior, Tiffany Vincent will participate in the Girls Game. Get out and support them one last time before they head off to college. Last year’s games were very enjoyable. Former Zizzer Nick Dryden was named as one of the MVP’s of the boys game in 2006.

The Games are hosted by SGFsoccer.com and Springfield Soccer Club. Tickets are $5 for ages 14 and older and $3 for ages 13 or younger.

Soccer Open Field Sessions will begin Tuesday June 5. They will be held on Tuesday and Thursday Mornings from 7:00am to 9:00am at Carmical Field behind the R-7 Administration building on First Street. Players ust wear shinguards in order to participate.
