Where Are They Now – Josh Posegate

Josh Posegate was a Midfielder in the Zizzer Soccer Program from 1996-1999. He appeared in 1 Varsity Game in 1997 and was a key part of the 1998 and 1999 Varsity squads that lost in the District Final to Rolla (2-1 in Double OT in 1998 and 3-2 in 1999). Josh finished his Zizzer Career with 7 Goals and 7 Assists. His Senior year, he led the team in Assists with 7 and was third in goals with 5. For his efforts, Josh was named Second Team All-District in 1999.

Josh graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia and took a job teaching in Marshall, MO. I received an email from Josh last week updating us on what he is doing and offering congratulations. Here is what he had to say:

Congrats on the win last night and appearance in the final four. That’s exciting for the program and it’s got to be great for you and your guys. I’m still interested in how the alma mater does even 7 years after I left. I’m also interested because Marshall, where I teach, is in the same class as West Plains. We were in the same conference/district as Hannibal, your possible championship (or third place) opponent. This year was my first year to be part of the high school soccer program here at Marshall (I was coaching junior high before that). I am the assistant coach for the boys and head coach for the girls. So I am following soccer throughout the state pretty closely this year. Again congratulations, I’m excited for you and your guys and will be rooting for you this weekend, good luck. By the way, the website that you have for the program is unbelievable, great job with that.

Thanks Josh. It is good to see that you are doing well. I’m also glad to see you involved in the beautiful game.

Interesting – For What It’s Worth

Saw this on Mosports.com don’t know the poster but here was there take on the WP vs ND game.

Do not have actual shots on goal, Game was delayed 3 hours and was moved to smaller turf field at Busch complex. Conditions were difficult, turf was slick, wind was howling and lighting on field was poor. ND had better ball control, spread the field better and had better passing. I was impressed however with West Plains they played very well had a couple of fast, good player up front and for periods of the 2nd half they took it to the ND defense like I had not seen this year. The number of shots were probably in ND’s favor but not an overwhelming number. After seeing both ND, West Plains, Hanibal and St. Dominic, the two best teams played each other on Friday Night ND and West Plains.

For What it’s worth.
