Bill Spencer was the first Head Coach of the Zizzer Soccer Programs. He served as the Head Boys Coach from 1994-1996 and was the Head Girls Coach in 1997. Prior to coaching the Zizzer Soccer Teams, Bill had coached Track and Football at WPHS and other places.
Spencer’s tenure as Head Soccer Coach ended rather quickly. In the Late Spring of 1997, Bill was approached about an opportunity to move to Chatanooga, TN and teach Bible in the Public Schools, something he was very interested in doing. This would also allow him to be closer to his parents. But as summer came it didn’t look like the move was going to happen for different reasons.
In late July, the opportunity became available and Bill made the decision to move to Tennessee.
I’m still here in Chattanooga teaching Bible in the public schools. I teach Genesis to 6th grade, Exodus to 7th grade, and the life of Jesus to 8th graders. I also coach football at the high school. My kids are Isaac 10, Aaron 8, and Asa 2. We love being here. Good friends, good community, good environment for our children, and close to my parents who are both in their late 70′s…….hearing from you brings back some pleasant memories.
