The F-Word did the Zizzers in Tuesday night at Parkview. FOCUS that is. The Zizzers weren’t focused at the ouset of the match and the Vikings took advantage. In the second minute of the game, what seemed like a harmless ball near the edge of the 18 yard box proved dangerous. As Zizzer Keeper Richard Jones slipped and fell try to clear the ball out, the Vikings pounced on the ball and Joey Ekstam put it into the open goal. 1-0 Vikings. About two minutes later, Zach Henderson found a wide open Tim Brooks in the middle of the field. Brooks buried his shot. 2-0 Vikings.
Things picked up a little for the Zizzers, but the score remained 2-0 at the half. In the second half the Zizzers came out strong. In the 6th minute of the half, Justin Scicluna found Stuart Ziegler running into the box. Ziegler’s shot past a diving Tyler Kutz cut the Viking lead to 2-1. Despite good pressure and some good scoring chances the Zizzers couldn’t tie the score. With the loss the Zizzers record stands at 12-2-2 and 3-2-1 in the Ozark Conference.
In JV action, West Plains played their best half of the season in the first half which ended with a 0-0 score. Parkvie whowever scored 2 goals in the second half to win the game 2-0. The JV record is now 3-5-0.
