The Zizzers traveled to Springfield yesterday to take on the Central Bulldogs. It didn’t take long for the Zizzers to get on the scoreboard. Justin Scicluna scored the first of his 3 goals 33 seconds into the game on an assist from Cody Townsend. The Zizzers’ second goal was scored by Chris Saner assisted by Stuart Ziegler.. Brice Hunt added a goal assisted by Justin Scicluna. Scicluna added his second goal assisted by Ziegler. The fifth goal came from Logan Ray assisted by Saner. Cody Townsend scored 2 goals 3 minutes apart. The first coming on a penalty kick after he was tripped up by the Central Keeper in the box. Townsends second goal was assisted by Klay Norman.
West Plains led 7-0 at halftime. The focus wa then working on passing and ball possession. Later in the second half Scicluna scored his third goal after making a 50 yard from his Sweeper position. The final goal came from Stuart Ziegler assisted by Mike Moore.
The West Plains JV won their match 4-0. Nathaniel Keating got the first score asisted by Dalton Gleghorn in the 14th minute. 8 minutes later Keating set up Josh Sims for the Zizzers second goal. Landon Perry made it 3-0 Zizzers in the 33rd minute on an assist by Dalton Gleghorn. The Zizzers added a final goal in the 14th minute of the second half, Sims assisted by Kenneth Knight.
The Varsity improves their record to 11-1-1 on the season and JV improves to 2-3-0. The next match will be against Glendale Tuesday at home at 5:00pm. The first home game of the season.
